As the debate in the UK parliament on assisted dying draws to a close, I am nervously waiting for the outcome hoping it will be voted through and continue the much needed debate in the legal reforms needed.

As I write this the vote in the Houses of Parliament on the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill —known as the assisted dying bill—is just over an hour away. MPs have been debating all morning, and around 2:30 pm (GMT), we are expected to know the outcome.
